Official N.W.T.F. Scoring Formula

To arrive at a score for your turkey under the current National Wild Turkey Federation scoring system, Follow these simple directions:

1. Multiply the Beard length by 2

2. Multiply the length of EACH spur by 10

3. Add the bird's total live weight

For example:

 

• weight = 23lbs. X 1 = 23
• spur #1 = 1" X 10 = 10
• spur #2 = 1.25" X 10 = 12.5
• beard length = 10.5" X 2 = 21

   

• Total = 23 + 10 + 12.5 + 21 = 66.5 points
